En los últimos años los desastres naturales que han afectado a diferentes regiones del mundo han sido una prueba de liderazgo para los gobiernos.
Mientras escribo estas breves líneas otro huracán esta azotando de nuevo la isla de Cuba de igual o mayor intensidad que lo hizo Gustav pero ahora amenazando con cruzar todo el territorio de este a oeste.
La situación se torna peor cuando los materiales , alimentos y medicinas que serán requeridos después del paso del huracán se ven restringidos por el embargo económico impuesto por Estados Unidos.
El embargo no ha logrado su objetivo aparente que es el de traer a la isla, democracia y libertad al estilo americano. ¿Entonces porque seguir?
In recent years natural disasters that affected various regions of the world have been a test of leadership for governments.
As I write these few lines another hurricane is rampaging though the island of Cuba with equal or greater intensity than it did Gustav but now is threatening to cross the entire territory from east to west.
The situation becomes worse when the materials, food and medicine that will be required after the hurricane are restricted by the economic embargo imposed by the United States
The embargo has not achieved its apparent target, which is to bring American-style democracy and freedom to the island. So why continue?
